The Master Quality That Improves Everything

There is the person who wakes up each morning, unsatisfied, yet continues through the monotony of an unfulfilled life, day after day.

There is the person who wakes up inspired, curious, brimming with joy, and willing to take on whatever they're confronted with.

The difference?

The first person lives solely within their comfort zone. The latter embodies Courage.

-

Of all the traps a human faces, perhaps the greatest is comfort.

The most detrimental risk a person can take is living a life without taking risks.

Why do people fall into this trap?

A life within the familiar, a life of comfort—this path takes little effort; this is the easy way.

A life of taking risks, a life of joy and wonder, is a venture into the Unknown.

The Unknown: The space where all monsters, fears, uncertainty, and the possibility of destruction reside.

Also the Unknown: The space where every beautiful and magical thing that could possibly happen, but has not yet happened resides.

In this way, the person who ventures into the unknown feels fear, yet allows courage to guide them through it.

It is our fear that gets in the way of us pursuing our dreams.

Yet our greatest joys, reside on the other side of fear.

-

With the above in mind, we see that Discomfort is the precursor for Growth.

When we willingly (or even unwillingly) step out of our comfort zone, we're gifted the opportunity to discover our potential.

We face trials and tribulations. Our strength, patience, and character are tested.

However, as we pass through each test, we emerge from the fire, born anew.

When embodying courage, we see our fears and challenges not as a negative, but as an opportunity for growth and Self-discovery.

-

"The opposite of courage is not cowardice, but conformity." Rollo May

Most people in our culture are wrapped up in the paradigm of Fear. Instead of confronting this fear, we shy away from it, falling back into what's comfortable.

Yet there are people who live on the other side of fear, within a space of Love.

These people embody courage. They allow their hearts to guide them through fear and come out the other side stronger, filled with joy, and appreciation.

These people intentionally face their fears to create meaningful relationships, work, artistic expressions, and lifestyles.

-

What does it mean to be a courageous person?

It means to willingly put ourselves in uncomfortable positions with the knowledge that we’re bound to Expand through this.

We Expand our Character, our Curiosity, our Creativity, our Consciousness, and our capacity to Love.

Courage leads us to question the status quo. Furthermore, it encourages us to question our own beliefs.

Courage invites the opportunity to fall deeper into Understanding and into our Heart.

It is through courage that we allow ourselves to explore the Unknown. We discover an ever-deepening connection to our Self. We uncover our potential and the gifts within what it means to be Human.

The Master Quality that Improves Everything is Courage.

To bring about more courage in your life, ask yourself, "What do I desire that I'm scared to pursue?"

Once you have clarity of what this looks like, begin taking gentle, small steps into the discomfort.

You're capable of this!

Until next time,

A warm weekend to you :)
